Mayfield School is a Special School catering for students aged between 4 and 19 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We have two sites, Whitehaven and Cockermouth. Children who are educated at Mayfield School must be directed to the school through the local authority.
Mayfield School is a highly sought-after specialist provision, and the number of places available each year is limited. New places typically become available when pupils move on to their next stage of education. Placement decisions are made by the Local Authority, taking into account the individual needs of the child or young person and the availability of suitable places within the school.
