School Lunches
Healthy, Enjoyable and Inclusive Meals

We understand that children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and medical needs may require additional support at mealtimes. Our aim is to ensure that every child can enjoy a safe, positive and comfortable lunchtime experience.

We work closely with parents and carers, school staff and relevant healthcare professionals to understand and support each child's individual needs.

We recognise that children may have a range of dietary, medical and sensory requirements. Where appropriate, we can provide support for:

  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Special dietary requirements
  • Medical conditions affecting eating or drinking
  • Modified food textures and consistencies
  • Sensory sensitivities relating to food, smell or the dining environment
  • Individual eating and drinking plans
  • Support with feeding and developing independence
  • A Safe and Supportive Environment
Our staff work to create a calm, welcoming and supportive lunchtime environment. Children will receive individual support where needed, helping them to feel comfortable and confident during meals.

We understand that routines can be particularly important for some children, and we aim to provide consistency and flexibility to meet individual needs.

Good communication with families is essential. We encourage parents and carers to share information about their child's dietary needs, medical requirements, food preferences and any support they may need at lunchtime.

We will work with families and relevant professionals to ensure appropriate plans and procedures are in place to support each child safely.

Every child is different. We are committed to providing an inclusive lunchtime experience that supports children's health, wellbeing, independence and enjoyment of food.
