On Tuesday 7th March we held a World of Work Day in school where we hosted a range of local employers. Mountains 6, 7,9,10 and 11 all enjoyed visits from a large range of companies who came into school to speak about the work they do and to help promote employability skills. Students really enjoyed the different sessions and learned a lot about the world of work. A big thank you to – INSPIRA, TSP Engineering, Osprey Inns, Cumbria County Council, North Lakes Food Bank, Northern Gas Networks, Kaefer, Mitie, The Outdoor Partnership, Whitehaven Harbour Youth Project and West House.

Students in 5 classes from the Mountains Department were visited today by 7 sets of local employers as part of our World of Work day.

The employers came into classes and met students while also teaching them about the world of work and engaging them in some fun and practical activities.

Students (and staff) really enjoyed the various sessions with the employers and gained a valuable insight into the work that some of our local employers and organisations do. We are looking forward to some further work and collaboration with them in the future.

A big thank you to the local employers who came into visit us:
